Black Leadership Advisory Executive Member Meeting

The Black Leadership Advisory Executive members (BLA-Executives) are a group of executive leaders dedicated to combating anti-Black racism and promoting Black inclusion at UTM. Our efforts focus on advocacy, accountability, and action. We work across departments, engage with students and faculty, and develop policies that drive systemic change. This group reports to the larger Black Leadership Advisory Committee. Areas of focus and operations include, but are not limited to: Strategic Planning: We create and implement university-wide initiatives to address anti-Black racism and foster Black excellence; Policy Review & Reform: We evaluate institutional policies to ensure they embody equity, justice, and inclusivity; Community Engagement: We partner with Black student organizations, faculty, and staff to elevate voices and cultivate a sense of belonging; Accountability & Reporting: We track progress on UTM’s anti-racism initiatives and share results with senior leadership; and Mentorship & Leadership Development: We assist emerging Black leaders through mentorship programs, workshops, and professional growth opportunities.
