SUMMARY:Anti-Racist Pedagogies Learning Series – Robert Gillespie Academic Skills Centre
DESCRIPTION:Event Details: Tuesday\, October 14th\, Time TBD \nThe Anti-Racist Pedagogies Learning Series introduces instructors to the foundations of anti-racist pedagogy in higher education. \nDesigned for instructors who are new to this work or in the early stages of implementation\, the series offers a supportive yet urgent space to reflect on how power\, race\, and systemic inequity shape undergraduate classrooms. \nSession #1: What Is Anti-Racist Pedagogy? Naming\, Reframing\, and Reflecting \nThis foundational session establishes a shared understanding of anti-racist pedagogy as both a theoretical framework and practical approach to teaching in higher education. Participants will move beyond surface-level diversity initiatives to explore how anti-racist pedagogy actively challenges and dismantles systems of oppression within educational settings. \nExpress your interest in this event and learn more about future sessions.
