Hart House’s Hip Hop Education program is pleased to present an exciting conference Hip Hop Diaspora 2.0 Hip Hop, Technology and Memory Making in the Americas.

We’re showcasing two of our opening conference events and inviting everyone to join us for an insightful keynote address by one of Jamaica’s foremost music historians Prof Dennis Howard from the University of the West Indies on Nov 5 at Hart House followed by a panel discussion entitled Sampling Sister Nancy: The Story of Bam Bam at Innis Town Hall.  From Jay-Z to Kanye, Bam Bam is the most sampled reggae song. The discussion will feature several special guests including Alison Duke, director of the acclaimed film Bam Bam: The Sister Nancy Story.
