Medical Myth Busting at MAM: A look into the history of medicine as it is related to Black History in Canada

By creating space to learn about and discuss the historical foundations fo medical racism, this event aims to equip all future practitioners with the awareness, language, and perspective needed when caring for Black patients.  Engaging in these histories supports more thoughtful clinical reasoning, stronger patient trust, and advocacy for patient safety.

Through shared learning and reflection, this event encourages participants to move beyond discomfort, acknowledge medicine’s past, and carry that understanding forward into their clinical practice to ensure more equitable care.
